I have to apologize for the continued delay of the big year. The first big year competition hosted on this website started on July 1, 2008 and was followed by a second big year which ended on June 30, 2010. The competition was based on data that was input into the
eBird database. I have every intention on resuming the competition, but I'm trying to migrate the programming code into a new language and a new database. This, along with the recent taxonomic changes have proven to be a difficult process. (Initially, the application was run on PHP code using MySQL as a database and currently the server is running on ASP.NET 4.0 using Microsoft SQL.)
